Owned and operated by Vincent Rospond, Winged Hussar Publishing formed in 2012 with the goal of publishing enjoyable and well-written reading material for anyone of any age. Having worked in publishing since the ‘80s, Vince has utilized his knowledge in the field to establish a catalogue of works from all time periods and genres - history, fantasy, science-fiction, children’s, and wargaming. Our primary focuses are publishing military history and source documents with an eastern European flair, as well as providing narrative and painting guides for tabletop gamers - however, through our various projects, our range has expanded to be more inclusive. Over the years, we’ve established contracts to publish works for imprints such as Triglav and Nafziger Books, as well as produce novels for game companies such as Mantic Games and Corvus Belli. In 2023, WHP acquired an interest in the well-known and respected military history bookstore, On Military Matters, merging many aspects of the two business, and finally establishing a physical store presence.

In an everchaing landscape, we have grown and adapted to fit the times. Whether you like physical books or ones you can read on an e-reader, we try to have something for everyone. All of our books are available physically (because after all, who doesn’t like the feel and smell of a new book in their hands?) with some select items available in hardcover, most of our products are available as an ebook, and we even have produced a select few audiobooks over the years. We ship worldwide and take great care to make sure the books (or other products) arrives safely in your hands. Winged Hussar Publishing is not a large corporation - we are a small team, passionate about what we produce. We are dedicated to working closely and establishing relationships with our authors, as well as getting to know and take care of our customers.

You can buy our books at most retailers and distributors in the US/UK and OZ, or you can buy directly from us on this website. We attend HMGS conventions in the northeast, as well as make regular yearly appearances at Adepticon and Philcon. If you’re ever at the shows, stop by and chat. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date on all of our news. Also make sure to check out our podcast, the WHPubcast! (whpubcast.podbean.com)
