We’re happy to announce the latest novel coming in our series based on Kings of War, set in the Pannithor universe created by Mantic Games!
Blades of Samarik
by Mark Barber
For those familiar with the Tales of Pannithor series, the name Mark Barber should be no surprise. Mark has written an incredible six novels in the Tales of Pannithor series, with the latest novel Last Light having released at the end of 2025. Blades of Samarik serves as both as an excellent jumping in point for those unfamilliar with the Pannithor novels or just starting out, as well as a treat for those who have read Mark’s other works. The novel is set during the events of v4, similar to Stand at Callenspire, and acts as a prelude for the upcoming summer campaign for Mantic. For those that want to know what’s happening now in the world of Pannithor, it’s a fantastic read. For those that want to know what the cast of the Sacred Ark series have been up to in the time since Last Light, there are easter eggs and callbacks galore that do not alienate a new audience.
Synopsis:
“As the Xirkaali Empire’s rapid advances across Pannithor threaten to conquer all who stand before them, the nations of the west remain divided. Of all of these nations, Basilea stands as both the strongest and the most fractured. The Shining Ones themselves visit mere mortals with messages from Mount Kolosu, conflicting directions which tear a new wound between two faith groups in the mighty Hegemony. And above all of this is the constant threat from the Abyss — the deadly peril of demons at the northern borders, closer and more real than the rumors of Xirkaali aggression.
All the meanwhile, Orion — formerly Lord of Suda — has now been promoted to Lord Paladin of the First Cohort of the Order of the Sacred Ark after his valiant efforts at Dannean Hill. Tasked with aiding the city of Samarik after yet another grueling battle, Orion must lead his paladins to defend the Hegemony's borders — along the way, encountering some unexpected allies and familiar faces.
With a new, secret threat ready to be tested from the depths of the Abyss itself, and salamanders desperately seeking aid from their valiant defence against the Xirkaali, war is now finally spilling inside the borders of the great Hegemony of Basilea.”
Look forward to the novel releasing in June 2026! Find it here, with the ebook to follow after release.
